Week 7 – Final Week of Field Experience (+ interesting article)

November 27, 2011

Hey there!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted an original post and have recently found myself reading the blogs of others and finding some interesting information regarding physical and health education.  I definitely recommend that you take a look at some of these reblogs.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the end – my final week at LaurenHill Academy for my field experience.  Tomorrow is actually also my final supervisor evaluation and I feel rather confident with my lesson plan.  I’ve been told before that I’m my own worse critic.. and I believe it.  Yesterday, I actually created a volleyball lesson plan for my secondary 5 students in leadership class and when I finished it, for one reason or another, I didn’t like it.  I decided to sleep on it.

This morning, I decided to revamp the lesson plan and scratch off everything entirely and start anew.  Although it required double the work, at the end of the day, regardless of how the lesson goes tomorrow (which should go well, I don’t see why it wouldn’t), I definitely planned something I can be proud to deliver in the gymnasium.  Wish me luck going into my final week before winter break!

Also, on a somewhat related note, there was a recent news article in Montreal regarding the French school board enforcing the French language at all times during the school day – hallways, cafeteria, recess, etc.  It’s an interesting article and I would love to hear your point of view on the matter.  The full article can be found here:
