1. Learning Needs Assessment

This report provides the background of the project, the objectives of the program, as well as drafts of the evaluation instruments intended to measure these objectives.

On October 5th, 2012, I assisted in a workshop presentation with a former cooperating teacher during my field experience.  The workshop was entitled “Physical Education Today” and was part of a professional day (Day of Innovation in Educational Technology) on behalf of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board.  The workshop focused on how teachers today are using technology to enhance their lessons.

In the current situation, a learning program has been requested in a workshop format for instructing teachers keen on mobile technologies how to develop and build their own iOS applications for use with their students.

The Learning Needs Assessment includes, but is not limited to:

• Needs Assessment Report Outline – Provides the general outline that the report will follow

Background Information – Consists of the client’s request and business need

Current and Ideal Situation – Analyzes the gaps in performance

Target Learning Profile – Caters to specific learners

Content Objectives – Composed of main and supporting objectives of the program

Summative Evaluation – Covers the evaluation instruments used to assess the attainment of the learning objectives

Version 1.0: Learning Needs Assessment (v1)

Version 2.0 (final): Learning Needs Assessment (v2)

Short Reflection: Learning Needs Assessment (Reflection)
